How Sahni Handles Data
This policy explains what Sahni uses access to, what it stores for app functionality, and how to contact support about privacy questions.
Data Sahni May Access
- Camera and photo library: used for meal capture and photo-based food analysis when you choose those features.
- HealthKit: used only if you grant permission for health and activity reads inside the app.
- Local app storage: used to store meal history, scan results, preferences, and health-derived summaries needed for app features.
- App Store billing: subscriptions and purchase restoration are handled through Apple's StoreKit services.
- App-managed downloads: some app components such as detector model packs may be downloaded or updated by the app when that capability is enabled.
How Sahni Uses Data
- To analyze food photos and help you log meals.
- To store your meal history and nutrition summaries in the app.
- To read approved HealthKit signals and reflect them in progress, coaching, and related summaries.
- To restore premium access and subscription state through Apple's billing system.
Health Data
HealthKit access is optional. Sahni only reads the health data types you authorize on your device. If you deny HealthKit access, the rest of the app remains available except for features that depend on those health reads.
Retention and Control
Data used for local meal logging and app history is stored on your device as part of the app experience. You can remove app data by deleting the app from your device. HealthKit permissions can be changed at any time in the Health app and iOS Settings.
