- Core app database is encrypted with SQLCipher.
- iCloud Sync is optional and only runs when you enable it.
Privacy Policy
1) Data We Store On Device
LinkBook stores data locally to provide app functionality, including saved links, titles, descriptions, folders, tags, notes, favorites/read state, Reader data (such as offline article text and highlights), and cached preview media.
2) Optional iCloud Sync (Premium)
If you enable Sync, LinkBook syncs your library through Apple CloudKit in your personal iCloud account. Sync is optional and can be disabled at any time in the app.
3) Network Usage
LinkBook uses internet access only for product features you trigger, such as:
- Fetching webpage metadata/previews for links you save.
- Refreshing Smart Card data from supported sources.
- Loading original links and media when you choose to open them.
4) Reader Insights and On-Device AI
When available on supported Apple devices/OS versions, Reader Insights features use Apple on-device language models. Model processing is performed on-device by Apple frameworks.
5) In-App Purchases
Premium purchase and restore flows are handled through Apple StoreKit. We do not process your payment card details directly.
6) Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
LinkBook does not sell personal data and does not share your data with data brokers or advertising networks.
Data may be sent only to the service required for the feature you use:
- Websites you save, to fetch metadata/previews.
- Apple CloudKit, only if you enable iCloud Sync.
- Apple StoreKit, only for purchase and restore flows.
7) Tracking, Ads, and Analytics
LinkBook does not use ad SDKs or third-party tracking SDKs. The app does not use external analytics services for profiling or cross-app tracking.
8) Security
The core database is encrypted using SQLCipher. Encryption keys are stored using platform-secure key storage (Keychain). Device-level protections also apply (for example, device passcode and OS data protection).
9) Data Retention and Deletion
Local app data is retained on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall LinkBook.
If iCloud Sync is enabled, synced records remain in your iCloud account until you delete the related content (or disable and clear your synced data). You can request support help at the contact details above.
10) Your Controls
- Delete links, notes, tags, folders, and highlights from inside the app.
- Disable iCloud Sync if you do not want cloud replication.
- Uninstalling the app removes local app data from that device.
11) Children
LinkBook is not designed to collect personal data from children. The app is local-first and does not include social features or user-to-user messaging.
12) Changes To This Policy
We may update this page as features evolve. The latest version is always published here with the updated date.
