Wendus questions and answers

What is Wendus?

Wendus is a wedding seating chart, guest list and RSVP app for iPhone and iPad. It also sends digital invitations that guests open on their own iPhone, shows each guest the way to their seat, plans the venue floor plan to scale and in 3D, and checks guests in at the door with QR passes.

How much does Wendus cost? Is it a subscription?

Wendus is free to download and opens a complete sample wedding to explore. Premium, which lets you plan your own wedding, is a one-time $19 purchase for life. It is not a subscription, has no trial or renewal, and can be restored on your devices. Guests and helpers never pay.

Can I make a wedding seating chart with Wendus?

Yes. Wendus plans tables from your guest list in one step, seats every household, keeps together or apart the people you choose, and numbers the seats. You can move guests by hand, and print the seating plan, escort cards, place cards and a caterer summary by table.

Can I plan the venue floor plan to scale and see it in 3D?

Yes. Draw the reception room to scale, start from a listed reception hall's real size, or import the venue's floor plan as a PDF or image. Place tables, the stage, the dance floor and exits, then walk the room in 3D and move or turn tables there. If your hall isn't listed, use Request Your Hall in the app to send its measurements or construction plan, and it is added for everyone.

Can I import my guest list from Excel?

Yes. Bring your list from Excel, a CSV file, your Contacts or a pasted spreadsheet. Wendus groups guests into households, shows a preview before importing, and can export the list back to a spreadsheet.

How do digital invitations and RSVP work?

Each household gets its own invitation link, which you add to the message you send by WhatsApp, Messages or Mail. Guests on iPhone open it in Wendus, free and with no Wendus account (they need to be signed in to iCloud), to see the events, directions, add to calendar and their guest pass, and to reply. Replies update your guest list by themselves, and anyone can still reply in the chat.

How do guests find their seat?

When you choose to show tables, each guest's invitation includes Find Your Seat: the way from the entrance to their table, as a plan or in 3D, with their seat numbers. It never shows other guests' names.

Can we share wedding photos with guests?

Yes. Add photos to share with every invited household. Each photo is resized, loses its location and camera details, and is end-to-end encrypted in your own iCloud. Guests see them in their invitation and can save them.

How does check-in at the door work?

Every household gets a QR guest pass. Helpers join from their own phones for free and check guests in by scanning the pass or by name, including walk-ins and guests bringing others. Arrivals stay in sync between nearby doors, and check-in works without an internet connection.

Is my guest list private?

Yes. Your wedding is stored on your iPhone or iPad and encrypted. Wendus has no account, no server, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Invitations and photos are kept only in your own iCloud, end-to-end encrypted, so not even Wendus can read them.

Does Wendus work on iPad? Do guests need an iPhone?

Wendus works on iPhone and iPad. Guests on iPhone or iPad can open their invitation in Wendus; guests on Android reply in the chat as usual.
